1. Introduction

At Advanced Money Tracker, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, and profile picture when you sign up
  • Financial Data: Transactions, budgets, goals, loans, and other financial information you enter
  • SMS Data (Android, optional): If you enable auto-detection, the app reads incoming SMS on your device to identify bank/payment transactions — see Section 3 for details
  • Usage Data: How you interact with our application
  • Device Information: Browser type, device type, operating system, and a push-notification token used to deliver alerts

3. SMS-Based Transaction Detection

Our Android app includes an optional feature that requests permission to read incoming SMS messages, in order to automatically detect bank and payment transactions and save you the effort of manual entry.

  • SMS content is parsed entirely on your device. The raw text of your messages is never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party
  • Only the resulting transaction data (amount, category, and a short note) is saved to your account
  • This feature is disabled by default and only activates once you explicitly grant SMS permission; it can be turned off at any time from Settings
  • If you belong to more than one workspace, you control which workspace(s) — personal or shared — auto-detected transactions are added to

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain our services
  • Track your financial transactions and goals
  • Send you important updates and notifications, including budget alerts and app announcements via push notification
  • Improve our services and user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

5. Shared Workspaces & Activity Logs

Advanced Money Tracker lets you create or join shared "Workspaces" (for example, with family or household members) to track finances together. Being part of a shared workspace changes who can see your data:

  • Other members of a workspace you belong to can see the transactions, budgets, goals, and loans recorded in that workspace
  • An Activity History log records who created, edited, or deleted an entry — including the before-and-after values when a transaction is edited — visible to other members of that workspace
  • Other members can also see your display name, email address, and profile photo within a shared workspace
  • Only invite people you are comfortable sharing this level of financial detail with. See Section 11 for what happens to this data if you leave a workspace or delete your account

6. Data Storage & Security

Your financial data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud Platform). We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. You retain full ownership of your data and can request deletion at any time.

7. Subscription & Payment Data

We offer optional paid subscription tiers. To manage your access to paid features, we store your subscription tier, billing cycle, and plan expiration date.

  • We never store or process your raw card, UPI, or bank payment details — these are handled directly by Razorpay (web) or Google Play Billing / RevenueCat (Android)
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the platform you subscribed on (e.g., your Google Play account's subscriptions page)

8. AI Features

Features like AI Coach and smart transaction entry send relevant data — such as transaction descriptions, amounts, categories, and spending patterns — to our AI provider to generate insights, suggestions, and coaching responses.

  • We never send your account credentials, passwords, or full financial account numbers to the AI provider
  • Free-tier accounts may be subject to a daily usage limit on AI features; usage counters are stored to enforce this limit

9. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal or financial information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With your explicit consent
  • With service providers who help us operate our application (e.g., Firebase for hosting, Razorpay/Google Play Billing/RevenueCat for payments)
  • With other members of a shared workspace you join, as described in Section 5
  • When required by law or to protect our rights

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("Right to be Forgotten")
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt-out of non-essential communications

11. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time directly from the app.

How to delete your account:

  1. Open the Advanced Money Tracker app
  2. Go to Settings → scroll to Delete Account
  3. If you are a member of any workspace, remove yourself from each workspace first
  4. Confirm deletion

Data that is deleted:

  • Personal information (name, email address, profile photo)
  • All transactions, categories, and budgets
  • Goals and progress data
  • Recurring transaction rules
  • AI Coach chat history
  • Account credentials and authentication data

Data that is retained:

  • If you were a member of a shared workspace, transactions you recorded — and your name/photo on the Activity History log described in Section 5 — may remain visible to other workspace members for record-keeping purposes
  • Anonymized usage analytics and crash reports may be retained for up to 90 days
  • Firebase may retain backup copies of your data for up to 30 days before permanent deletion

Deletion timeline: Account deletion is processed immediately. However, Firebase backup systems may take up to 30 days to fully purge all copies. After this period, your data is permanently unrecoverable.

12. Cookies & Tracking

We use minimal cookies for essential functionality only. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies. Any cookies used are solely for authentication and session management.

13. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
